Gold Coast and Tweed Coast Wedding Photography

On the weekend Michael and I (as Wonderland Wedding Photography) attended our first ever Wedding Expo, run by the lovely people at Your Local Wedding Guide. It is held twice a year at the Gold Coast Convention Centre and is a truly epic event, for not only the bride and groom but for the vendors!

It was a brilliant experience, I had a blast, made a few mistakes and certainly learned a lot for the next one! Yep, you heard that right, I got in the car after we packed down and immediately emailed the organisers to book both the Brisbane Wedding Expo in May 2024 and the August 2024 Gold Coast Wedding Expo.

Being the chatterbox that I am was so excited to meet all the brides and grooms. It was our first Expo and 100% will not be our last! This is the year of being visible and what better way to do that than by talking to the couples? I honestly believe the best way to choose your wedding vendors is to have conversations with them.

We Are A Major Sponsor

Wonderland Photography donated a prize of our complete wedding package to the organisers of the Gold Coast Wedding Expo as our introductory offer, valued at $3395. We also had an amazing saving that we offered to all couples who attended the expo.

What will we do differently?

As complete newbies, we were flying blind at this expo!

If you ever consider going to a wedding expo as a vendor, here are some tips:

  1. See if you can go to one beforehand. Honestly research is so very important. We DID go to one beforehand, however we were looking more at the signage and brochures we would need and missed some important things.
  2. Take a backdrop to make your stand look more appealing. The gorgeous celebrant next to us was so kind as to share the supplier she used for hers and we will order one asap for the Brisbane Expo in May.
  3. Be prepared to talk...all day! Me, I loved it! It is my happy place to meet people and build relationships, but if you struggle, prepare yourself for it! Bring a friend/support person to help you if you need a break.
  4. Get friendly with the other stalls! I had the privilege of having the coolest most down to earth group of people in my sphere. Thanks to RACV Royal Pines Resort, Pure Romance by Donna and the gorgeous Melissa Price Marriage Celebrant.
  5. Take more photos of everything!! Time flew by and I didn't think to get any decent photos or videos of our setup and the vibe! Here's your reminder to DO IT!
