The Story We'll Tell — A Family Experience

Two happy children sit together on sandy beach dunes surrounded by coastal vegetation in a warm outdoor portrait.

For the ones who want to remember what this season felt like - the small gestures, the in-between moments, the love that often goes unseen.

A one-hour session crafted with gentle direction, patience, and an eye for real connection.

Because one day, these images will tell your story - and I want you to be in it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the sessions take place?

Family sessions take place at an outdoor location on the Tweed Coast or surrounding areas  (think beaches, bushland or open spaces where kids can move freely).

If you have a special place in mind, I’m always happy to chat about it. Otherwise, I’ll suggest a location that suits your family, the light and the season, so you don’t have to figure it all out yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should we wear?

You don’t need to match perfectly or buy anything new. Soft, comfortable clothing in neutral or earthy tones photographs beautifully and lets connection shine through. Bare feet, flowing dresses, knits, linen and denim all work well.

Once you’re booked, I’ll send through simple outfit guidance to help you choose pieces that feel like you, without overthinking it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if the weather isn't great on the day?

Weather happens, and it’s nothing to stress about.

If conditions aren’t suitable (heavy rain, strong winds, or unsafe conditions), we’ll reschedule at no extra cost.

Overcast days are actually beautiful for photos and some of my favourite sessions have happened under moody skies. We’ll make a call together and do what feels best for your family.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time do sessions usually take place?

Most outdoor family sessions take place during the softer light around sunrise or sunset, depending on the location and season.

I’ll guide you toward the best timing for relaxed, natural images and happy little humans.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my partner hates photos?

Honestly, this is incredibly common.

My sessions are designed to feel relaxed and low-pressure, without stiff posing or forced smiles. Most reluctant partners leave saying it was far easier and more enjoyable than they expected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can grandparents or extended family join in?

Absolutely. Extended family sessions can be such a beautiful way to document connection across generations.

If you’re planning a larger family gathering, I recommend booking an extended family session so there’s enough time and space for everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should we bring to our session?

Water, snacks for little ones, beer for Dad, a towel for beach sessions and anything sentimental you’d love included.

Otherwise, just come as you are. I’ll guide the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

We feel awkward in front of the camera. Is that normal?

Completely. Almost every family says this before their session.

My approach is gentle, relaxed and connection-focused, with plenty of movement and prompting so you’re never left wondering what to do with your hands.
