You are simply there, together, in a place that already means something to your family and this is why holiday photos tend to feel more natural and more connected. A small number of sessions every holiday period
Every school holidays I keep aside a limited number of family photo sessions specifically for families who holiday in this area each year.
Some of these families I photograph once. Others return year after year. Kids who were toddlers when I first met them now turn up taller, louder and with a lot more personality.
For the upcoming summer holidays, I am opening a small number of additional sessions alongside my usual holiday allocation. Once those sessions are booked, that is it. I do not overbook school holidays. I want these sessions to stay relaxed and enjoyable, not rushed or stacked back to back.

Holiday periods are also when extended families tend to be together.
Grandparents are visiting, adult siblings home at the same time and even cousins all in one place.
This makes it the perfect time to book an extended family photoshoot on one of our Tweed Coast or Gold Coast beaches. We can photograph the full family group and then break it down into smaller combinations. Each family unit. Grandparents with their grandchildren. Siblings together. Parents with their adult children.
It becomes a full family story, not just one photo.
Locations that work beautifully for holiday family photography
Most holiday family sessions take place around Tweed Heads, Fingal Head, Kingscliff, Cabarita and Casuarina.
These locations work well for families because they are easy to access, have space for kids to move and offer soft natural light that does not feel harsh or forced. Grandparents are comfortable. Kids can run. Nobody feels staged.
