Women of Wonderland

Somewhere between being someone's daughter, someone's partner and someone's mother, a lot of women quietly stop showing up in their own photographs.
You're the one behind the camera. The one who remembers everything. The one everyone else can rely on.
I photograph the person underneath all of that, the personality, the laugh, the woman who existed before any of those roles and is still very much here now.
No performing. No becoming someone else. Just the woman who's been there the whole time.

What a Women of Wonderland session actually is
Some of it is quiet. A woman on her own, in her own home, just being photographed without an audience or an agenda for the first time in years.
Some of it is generational, a mother and daughter, sisters, three generations in one frame, seeing each other the way they rarely get to.
Some of it is boudoir or modern glamour, as covered or uncovered as she wants, not for anyone else's approval, just because she's allowed to feel like herself in her own skin.
Some of it marks a milestone, a birthday, a year survived, a version of herself she's finally ready to acknowledge, including 40 Over 40, a celebration of who she is at this point in her life, not a countdown to something she's supposed to feel about a number.
And some of it is simply portraits. No occasion required. No before-and-after. Just a woman, as she is, right now, worth photographing exactly as she stands.
Different women. Different reasons. Same starting point: you don't need one first.
