When did you last have a photo of all of you together?
I don’t mean a selfie at arm’s length or a photo where someone’s eyes are shut and the dog is the only one looking at the camera. I mean a proper photograph of your family as you are at the moment.
If you’re not sure, that’s completely normal. Most parents are the ones taking the photos, which means they’re hardly ever in them.
Why family photos are worth booking now
Kids change quickly. The child who wouldn’t let go of your leg last year is now running ahead of you down the beach. Next year they’ll be taller again, with different opinions about what they’ll wear.
You don’t need a special occasion. You don’t need a new outfit for everyone or kids who behave perfectly. You just need a time and place, and someone to take care of the photography side so you can be in the moment with your family.
What a family session with me looks like
Family sessions are relaxed and unhurried. I’ll guide you through some simple poses to get the photos you want of everyone together, then we let things loosen up.
The kids can run, climb, wander off and come back. Parents can laugh at them instead of stressing about whether everyone is looking at the camera. Those are usually the photos families end up loving most.
If you have a child who isn’t keen on having their photo taken, that’s okay. I’ll work at their pace, and it doesn’t need to feel like an ordeal for anyone.
Where we can photograph your family
I photograph families across the Tweed Coast and southern Gold Coast, including Banora Point, Tweed Heads, Kingscliff, Cabarita Beach, Fingal Head, Hastings Point and Rainbow Bay.
The best spot depends on your family. Some kids love the beach. Others do better somewhere quieter, with grass and shade. We’ll choose a location that suits your kids, your style and the time of day.
What to wear
Keep it comfortable and choose a few colours that sit well together. Matching isn’t necessary and often looks stiff.
Think about the location too. Soft neutrals and muted tones work well on the beach, and earthy colours suit bushland and parks. Most importantly, kids should be able to move in what they’re wearing. After you book, I’ll send you a simple guide so you’re not guessing.
Family photography pricing
Family sessions are $690 and include 20 professionally edited digital images. A $190 deposit secures your date and the balance is due at your session.
There’s no pressure to buy anything extra and no surprise costs. My pricing is on my website so you know exactly what you’re booking before you reach out.
