Dive into my story

It starts with a story - yours.

Every season of life has a story worth remembering.

Whether it's the beautiful mess of family life, a new baby in those first quiet weeks, or two people choosing each other in front of the people they love most - I'm here to capture it honestly, without silly posing or performance.

You were never behind on memories - you were living them!

FAQ

How do you manage a big group of people across different ages?

Honestly, this is my favourite kind of session to think through because there's an art to it.

The first thing I want you to know is that I get it. I understand the stress of wondering how your elderly parent is going to manage a beach location, or whether the toddlers will hold it together long enough for one good group shot. Mobility, energy levels, attention spans - I think about all of this before we even arrive.

For extended family sessions I tend to steer toward locations that work for everyone. Kirra Beach has a beautiful grassy section that's easy to navigate, as does Salt Bar at Casuarina. Kirra Community Centre is another favourite. Nobody is scrambling over rocks or sinking into deep sand.

We get the big group shot done first - while everyone is fresh and before the littles start melting. If anyone needs a chair, bring one. No awkwardness about it at all.

Then we break into smaller groupings - grandparents with grandkids, siblings together, individual families - and honestly some of the most beautiful moments happen when a grandparent and a toddler are just left to do their thing while I watch.

Snacks for the little ones are always a good idea. A small toy or something to fidget with helps too. But truthfully? The chaos sorts itself out. These sessions are more relaxed than you'd expect

Where can we take our photos?

I photograph families all over the Gold Coast, Tweed Coast and Northern NSW.

Some favourites are Fingal, Cabarita, Hastings Point , North Burleigh, Currumbin Valley and those quiet little pockets that only locals know.

If outdoors is not your thing, in-home sessions are beautiful too. Kids relax more and you get photos that truly look like your life.

We choose the location together based on light, comfort and the vibe you want.

What if my kids are wild, shy, sensitive or not in the mood?

This is the one I get asked the most.

Please know I do not expect perfect behaviour. Children never bother me.

I have a degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education and I worked with children long before I photographed them. I know how to read the room. I know how to calm nerves. I know how to help shy kids feel safe and how to give energetic kids space to be themselves.

Your job is to show up. My job is to guide the energy, keep it playful, and find the moments that matter. Some of the best photos come from the in-between bits that feel messy or unpredictable.

When is the best time of day for photos on the Tweed Coast?

Sunrise is absolute magic here. The hour after sunrise gives us the softest, dreamiest light. The beach is calm, the air is cooler and there are fewer people. It is perfect for families, babies and maternity sessions.

Sunset works beautifully too. The hour before the sun goes down is golden, warm and flattering. It suits older kids, teens and couples who don’t mind being out a little later.

If you prefer an in-home session, we can shoot any time your home has good natural light. I will guide you to the best option based on your family, your kids and the season.

What should we wear for our family session?

Wear clothes that feel like you. Soft colours always photograph well, especially creams, pastels and muted earthy tones. Avoid logos and anything stiff or scratchy because kids can sense discomfort before adults do.

If you are unsure, send me a photo of your outfits and I will help you pull it together. I am all about relaxed, natural style. Nothing perfect. Nothing fancy unless that is your thing. Just your family, comfortable and connected.

Do you photograph newborns in-home or in studio?

Most newborn sessions take place in my Tweed Heads studio and honestly, a lot of parents end up really relieved about that once the sleep deprivation kicks in.

You don’t need to tidy the house, stress about the washing piled up in the corner or worry whether your home gets enough natural light. You just show up with your baby and I take care of the rest.

The studio is calm, warm and set up specifically for babies and families, with soft natural tones, beautiful light and space to settle in without feeling rushed. I keep things relaxed and baby-led, with plenty of time for feeds, cuddles and little pauses when needed.

That said, I don’t approach newborn photography in a super stiff or heavily posed way. I’m far more interested in connection, tiny details and the feeling of this season of life than trying to make your baby perform like a tiny sleepy yoga instructor.

If home is important to you, I do offer in-home newborn sessions too, especially for families wanting a more documentary-style feel. But for many parents, coming into the studio feels easier, calmer and a bit like handing someone else the reins for an hour, which in those early weeks can be pretty bloody nice.
